The Secretary, DRTS, Mr Kayode Opeifa, in a statement on Monday in Abuja, says the ban was in accordance with the Federal Capital Territory Administration transportation master plan.
The Secretary, said that the reminder became necessary following the number of such buses presently on major roads in the FCT flouting the directive.
Mr Opeifa said that officers of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) and men of DRTS had been ordered to expedite immediate enforcement of the ban.
The Secretary urged the DRTS to work closely with other relevant security agencies to ensure proper enforcement of the ban.
“This took a lot of extra efforts from the authorities of FCTA, the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to enforce the directive,” he said.
