Banditry: Zamfara to impose death penalty

Zamfara state governor, Bello Matawalle say the death penalty will soon be adopted for people that give information to bandits. Many villages have been torched and hundreds killed by bandits and cattle rustlers in the state. FCT Police seize illegal ammunition

The Police, under Operation Puff Adder have intercepted six thousand foreign live ammunition from a four-man gang that specialises in the illegal importation of weapons. Parading the suspects in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba said the ammunition was intercepted around the border of Shaki in Oyo State as they were being brought in from North Africa.
