The 2nd Edition of the Annual Federal Education sector Games, FEDUGAM, has commenced at the Confluence stadium, Lokoja with ten agencies including Federal Ministry of Education participating.
The games are aimed at boosting healthy body, mind and foster unity among the agencies and staff.
Declaring the games opened, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Sonny Echono said sports and sporting activities was essential for ensuring healthy body and mind for optimum performance.
Represented by the Director, Human Resource Management of the ministry, Mr Auwalu Koko, the Permanent Secretary noted that sports contribute immensely in achieving a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being.
He advised athletes to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship by being well behaved, considerate and tolerate one another with a view to promoting cooperation and togetherness.
